Wonderful Wristletsby Shelby Shy on April 17, 2017 at 6:44 am
Prom is such a special time! As a florist for more than 40 years, we have seen the prom corsage design change over the years. Even with all the change, flowers continue to be the star of the corsage, also known as “wristlet.” However, over the past couple of years not only has the flower been the main component of the wristlet, ribbon and flower accents have become a great way to add personality and make your wristlet uniquely yours. Here are a few:
The blue bom dendrobium orchids are a hit with girls wearing any hue related to blue tones. A peacock feather can add some special flair.
Green and pink complement each other so well. Seeded eucalyptus as the foliage accessory adds a nice texture to this wristlet.
Peach has been a trend in the wedding category and we are starting to see it in prom dresses more this year. Lavender and silver ribbons bring out the color beautifully.
Animal print is still going strong, and adds playful flair to traditional flowers and colors.
A huge trend you will see over the next few years is wristlets accented with thicker ribbon. This signature black and white stripe ribbon beautifully accents these dainty yellow flowers.
Your florist has lots of ideas to enhance your dress and bring out your personal style.
