As a mom myself, I know how nice it is to feel appreciated. And, how important it is to recognize the moms in my life. While that should happen every day, Mother’s Day is wonderful day set aside to especially pamper our moms.

I often struggle to find just the right gift for the woman “who has it all.” One that speaks from my heart. And the final call is usually always floral, a beautiful bouquet or stunning flowering plant. With flowers, you just can’t go wrong, whether sending them across many miles or delivering them in person.

Sweetheart Floral Bouquet

Flowers in pink and purple hues

Yes, flowers beautify the home and bring a burst of spring inside. But their benefits go far beyond the aesthetic. Did you know flowers are actually scientifically proven to enhance our emotional well-being? A study by Rutgers University shows that flowers have an immediate impact on happiness, evoking extraordinary delight and gratitude. Flowers also have a long-term positive effect on moods. Specifically, study participants reported feeling less depressed, anxious and agitated after receiving flowers, and demonstrated a higher sense of enjoyment and life satisfaction.

Lastly, the study found that flowers make intimate connections. The presence of flowers led to increased contact with family and friends. These were universal reactions from women of all ages.  Moms are at all stages of life. Some are entrenched in the exhausting toddler years, some are running in circles raising busy teenagers, some are getting used to the “empty nest,” and some are facing the life challenges that aging brings on. No matter the life stage, all Moms could use an emotional boost. And what better way than with flowers to express your love and adoration for her? Whether looking for your mother, wife, sister, or friend, your florist can help you pick out something just right for her to give that moment of calm we all need.
