Welcome Summer Guestsby Shelby Shy on July 4, 2012 at 11:57 am
Summer is full of vacations, barbeques, and some good ol’ relaxation. It’s the best time to invite friends and family over to your house, but how can you make your home a haven for others? Flowers, of course! I’ve got the top 5 themes to turn your home into a perfect havenly home for your guests.
Country Home–A collection of mason jars or old bottles with a few single stems of flowers is a simple way to bring life to your room. To brighten your room use a mix of yellow sunflowers and billy balls. To calm the room add a few blue or purple blooms such as hydrangea or iris in an antique bottle.
Modern Home–A pave arrangement with florals clustered together says contemporary and unique. Try a fun play off of sushi with green button mums and hot pink gerbera daisies. Perfect for a kids room!
Lake Home–To add to your lakeside “humble abode,” mix in items that are hanging out around the house, such as lanterns adorned with dahlias and rustic greenery.
Southern Home–There is nothing more southern in my mind than the aroma and lush look of peonies. Use a teacup as a vase or even a teapot to add to the southern flavor!
Tropical Home–If you want to create a tropical get-a-away for your guests look no further than to beautiful orchids. A few single stems of dendrobium orchids in a vase or a vase with orchids underwater will give your guests a touch of the tropics!
Visit your local florist for a great selection of flowers, unique containers, and ideas to make your summer guests feel welcome. And if you are a guest in someone’s home, there is no better thank you gift than sending flowers after you’ve said goodbye until the next time. Flowers are the perfect gift to thank someone for their hospitality.
