Top 5 Graduation Giftsby Shelby Shy on June 7, 2013 at 11:51 am
There is something magical about celebrating important milestones and marking those special times with flowers, especially such a noteworthy accomplishment as graduation. If you have a graduate “in the house,” take note, as here are my top five floral gifts to honor your favorite student.
You can never go wrong with a presentation bouquet. A monobotanical bouquet (all one type of flowers) of roses or gerbera daisies are classic. Ask your florist for flowers in fun, bold and contrasting colors and to wrap the bouquet in bright graphic tissue paper. Perfect for you to present to the grad who just walked off the stage with a diploma in hand, or to congratulate the student for a performance in a school play or tournament.
If your graduate is college bound, or you are celebrating a college graduation, send a floral arrangement with school spirit. A mascot vase becomes a keepsake, holding pens and pencils for in the dorm or on their office desk once they land that first job out school.
I love the Hawaiian tradition of floral leis. Nothing screams “celebration” like wearing a necklace of flowers. Vibrant dendrobium orchids make a fun fashion statement, brightly contrasting with the graduation robe. Ask your florist to deliver the lei to your student the day before graduation.
If you are hosting the graduation party, ask your florist to arrange decorations such as centerpieces in school colors. Your graduate will be surprised and touched by the sophistication
of the celebration.
Balloons are a fun and youthful way to celebrate graduation. Talk to your local florist about graduation balloons.
