The Immense Positive Power of Flowersby Linda Vertlieb on May 28, 2013 at 11:17 am
Remember a few weeks ago when I told you about the VaseOff! Mother’s Day Challenge and I asked for your vote to support Shriners Hospitals for Children® — Philadelphia? Well this week, Kremp Florist arranged and delivered 150 cheerful bouquets to some pretty awesome people!
How did this all go down you ask? Here’s the set up.
The amazing team at Shriners set up a table for the patients to pick out their arrangement. At the table, they were provided cards so they could share a special note to their caregiver to tell them how much they appreciate them.
According to the Shriners team, “The joy and smiles of the patients and their families at Shriners Hospital for Children when we delivered 150 beautiful arrangements was heartwarming. The immense positive power that flowers provide was at its fullest for the children and their lucky recipients. Kremp Florist was thrilled to partner with the Society of American Florists in their Mother’s Day Vase Off! Challenge for the very special event.”
I’d like to personally thank everyone who voted and helped bring smiles, memories and the wonderful feeling to the caregivers and patients. HUGE thank you to Kremp Florist for their generous donation. Seriously, they know their flowers and their work is amazing! More thanks to those behind aboutflowersblog.com and thinking of me to represent Philly. Of course, finally, special thanks to the team at Shriners for helping us put this all together.
This week, I knew what it felt like to be in some of those mothers’ shoes. My son was sick and caring for him while still trying to run the household is EXHAUSTING to say the least. Not only are you hurting inside for your child, you have to find the strength to stay strong when all you want to do is just break down. These flowers were more than just something pretty. These flowers did more than brighten the room. They brightened people’s days. For a moment, their minds weren’t on where they were and why they were there. It was about smiles and showing appreciation.
Remember to think about flowers the next time you want to send a little cheer someone’s way or when you just can’t find the right words to say. Whether it’s a happy or not-so-happy occasion, flowers can always send the perfect message.
