New VaseOff! Challenge: Designing Summerby Jennifer Sparks on June 29, 2012 at 10:03 am
It’s summer! And time to get ready for our next VaseOff! Challenge. In April, we kicked off our first VaseOff! Challenge as part of a series of floral design challenges that give you the chance to see the artistry and talent that is in this great industry and vote for your favorite flower designs based on specific themes. We had tons of fun in April as we challenged our selected award-winning designers to create a 1920s Great Gatsby-inspired bridal bouquet. Check out all the great interpretations here!
Our next challenge embodies summer and the spirit of gift giving. We’ve challenged four new florist VaseOff! contestants to design an arrangement sure to delight a friend who loves the beach and can’t get enough of the sun, surf and sand. Whether for her birthday, a hostess gift or to express appreciation for being a supportive friend, the designs will showcase how professional florists can create the perfect gift custom fit for any personality — in this case, the quintessential summer girl.
We’ll post their designs right here on our blog and invite you to cast your vote to help select the winning design. Voting will be open July 9 – 23, 2012. To make sure you don’t miss out on this sizzling challenge, Like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter to stay updated. In the meantime, keep checking back on the blog for fun summer-inspired floral advice and trends, as well as our Aboutflowers Pinterest page.
To help us create this fun summer VaseOff! Challenge, we worked with three of our favorite bloggers and their readers to inspire us: www.mintedlife.com, www.celebratewomantoday.com, and www.bonggafinds.blogspot.com.
So many terrific ideas came our way – with lots of ideas for future blog post topics! The beach scene and its timeliness to summer fun caught our attention. We knew our designers could have great creative fun, and our readers could be transported to the shore in spirit, even if you can’t get there in person. So check back and be sure to vote, vote, vote for your favorite beach design starting July 9!
