And your favorite bridal bouquet is…by Jennifer Sparks on April 24, 2012 at 2:03 pm
For the past two weeks, brides, consumers, bloggers, and florists alike have been casting their votes for their favorite 1920s inspired bridal bouquet. Thank you for voting!
With the Artist winning the Oscar for Best Picture, and the new buzzed-about film adaptation of The Great Gatsby with Leonardo DiCaprio, a 1920s cultural revival is well under way, and the Jazz Age is making its way into the wedding scene. So, the first VaseOff! Challenge was set forth to four extremely talented floral designers to bring back this “roaring” era and design a bridal bouquet worthy of Daisy Buchanan and inspired by the style and spirit of The Great Gatsby.
With many votes going to each of the four bouquets, the winning favorite was Bridal Nouveau by Coby Neal. Congratulations Coby! The Bridal Nouveau bouquet is described by Coby as “a juxtaposition of the opulence and influence of art nouveau along with the contemporary design elements seen today.”
We were thrilled with the caliber of design for all of the entries, and would like to also thank our other contestants for sharing their incredible talents with us: Cindy Anderson with Flaunt It Fabulously, John Hosek with All That Jazz, and Ian Prosser with The Josephine Baker.
All of the designs in the VaseOff! Challenge showcase the artistry, expertise, and quality that you get from working with a professional florist. And who wouldn’t want that for one of the most important elements of your wedding day – the flowers?! After all, flowers can set the tone for the whole day, and are in the pictures that sit on your and your families’ mantels for years to come.
